Does getting dental implants hurt?
Surgery is performed under local anesthesia, and IV sedation is included on every full-arch case — you'll feel deeply relaxed, and most patients have little or no memory of the procedure. If you'd rather be completely asleep, general anesthesia administered by a licensed CRNA is available as an optional add-on. Post-op discomfort is typically mild and managed with ibuprofen.
Is this really “fixed” — does it ever come out of my mouth?
No. Your new teeth are permanently screwed into titanium implants that fuse to your jawbone. You don't take it out at night. You don't soak it. You brush and floss it like natural teeth. Once integrated, it stays put for life.
I've been told I'm “not a candidate.” Could that change here?
Often, yes. Many patients arrive after being told elsewhere they couldn't have implants — usually because of bone loss or long-term denture use. With 20+ years of implant experience and ICOI fellowship training, Dr. Timmerman is equipped for the rebuild work those cases need: bone grafting, soft-tissue grafting, sinus lifts, PRF, and zygomatic implants for severe upper-jaw bone loss. The only way to know for sure is a complimentary 3D CT scan and consultation.
What does it actually cost? What financing is available?
Single-arch All-on-X starts at $14,997 for acrylic, $19,997 for polymer (PMMA), and $21,997 for full zirconia — all-inclusive (implants, extractions, bone grafts, prosthesis, IV sedation). Single-tooth replacement is $3,497, and Stabili-Teeth® is $12,500/arch. We partner with Proceed Finance, Cherry, CareCredit, and LendingClub for plans from 3 to 84 months. Pre-qualification happens at your complimentary consult.
How long does the whole process take?
Three separate visits, not one day. First: your complimentary consult and 3D CT scan — often the same week you call. Surgery day is scheduled separately (typically a few weeks later) — that's when extractions and implant placement happen, and you walk out that day with fully-fixed teeth. 3–6 months after surgery, your final zirconia teeth are delivered once the implants have integrated.
What makes Dr. Timmerman qualified to place dental implants?
Dr. Timmerman has been placing implants for 20+ years and is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI) — one of the most respected implant-credentialing bodies. He performs every step of the implant placement himself in our Tukwila surgical suite — no outside referrals. That continuity matters: the same person who plans your case places your implants and follows your healing.
Does dental insurance cover any of this?
In most cases, dental insurance doesn't fully cover full-mouth implant work — that's an industry reality, not unique to us. Some plans contribute toward extractions, periodontal treatment, or imaging. The price we quote is the same with or without insurance — we don't inflate costs around it.
Why don't you just match the cheapest implant price I've seen advertised?
Implants are permanent surgery — bone you remove can't be put back, and a poorly-placed implant fails years later (usually after the warranty expires). Our pricing reflects the cost of an experienced implant-focused dentist personally planning and performing every case. You're paying for the surgeon, not the brand name.
Where is your office and how far do patients travel?
We're at 7100 Fort Dent Way, Suite 270, Tukwila, WA 98188 — minutes off I-5, just south of downtown Seattle. Patients regularly come from Seattle, Renton, Burien, SeaTac, Kent, Federal Way, Des Moines, and out of state for advanced implant care.
